We are a welcoming and innovative voluntary agency offering services in adoption, family support, emotional support to children and young people, safeguarding consultancy and training. Based in Nottingham, we work in the City of Nottingham, the County of Nottinghamshire and surrounding areas.
Providing the best outcomes for children and young people is at the heart of everything we do. Our team of skilled professionals bring experience, expertise and specialist knowledge to our organisation and help us to be there to offer the support children and families need.
Maggie’s offers free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends. Help is offered freely to anyone with any type of cancer. Simply drop in at any time - you’re always welcome.
HOST Nottingham has grown from a partnership of the leading refugee agencies working in Nottingham in 2011. We aim to provide a referral into accommodation for asylum seekers who are homeless. Providing support and training for those who are to provide temporary accommodation in Nottingham.
Advocacy is another key area within our work. Without our help many clients would have no access to health care or solicitors. We provide volunteer mentors and befrienders or advisors who can help clients to find fresh evidence that will lead to a new asylum claim. HOST Nottingham is also actively involved with awareness raising and campaigning for a just asylum system.
In addition, we develop meaningful activities to stop days from becoming empty and endless. English classes, arts and crafts, day trips and park activities to bring some purpose and enjoyment into our clients’ lives. During a guest's stay we can provide bus tickets or bikes as well as signposting to local services.
